In 2019 the Esperanto Museum of the Austrian National Library is celebrating the 90th anniversary of its solemn opening. This makes it one of the world’s oldest language

museums and one of the most important institutions of its kind. To mark the occasion the Austrian National Library is inviting for a major scientific symposium:

PLANNED LANGUAGES AND LANGUAGE PLANNING

Symposium on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the Esperanto Museum

24th and 25th of October 2019, from 9 am to 6 pm. Conference language: English

On eight panels internationally renowned academics and experts present their studies and publications, which also reflect the extent and diversity of the museums’s collections. The topics range from change and diversity of language museums, planned languages and language planning in general, to the history and presence of Esperanto.

2019 feiert das Esperantomuseum der Österreichischen Nationalbibliothek sein 90-Jahr-Jubiläum. Es ist damit weltweit eines der ältesten Sprachmuseen und eine der bedeutendsten Einrichtungen seiner Art. Aus diesem Anlass lädt die Österreichische Nationalbibliothek zu einem großen wissenschaftlichen Symposium:

PLANSPRACHEN UND SPRACHPLANUNG

Symposium zum 90. Geburtstag des Esperantomuseums

24. und 25. Oktober 2019, jeweils von 9 bis 18 Uhr

Tagungssprache: Englisch

Internationale ExpertInnen präsentieren in acht Themenblöcken ihre Forschungen und Publikationen, die auch das Sammelspektrum des Museums spiegeln. Die Themen reichen von den Chancen und der Vielfalt von Sprachmuseen über Plansprachen und Sprachplanung allgemein bis zu Geschichte und Gegenwart von Esperanto.

Die Teilnahme an der Tagung ist kostenlos.
